HTC Magic Review

The HTC Magic is a very attractive smartphone with some fantastic features that can even rival the iPhone. This phone is probably one of the nicest looking smartphones on the market; it has a high tech look and comes in a sexy colour scheme of blue and black.

The Magic by HTC is slim because it does not have to accommodate a physical keyboard; it measures 4.65 x 2.19 x 0.65 inches and weighs 4.09 ounces; this mobile is comfortable to hold in your hand, but still small enough that it isn’t difficult to take with you wherever you go.

The Magic is an Android phone so if you have already used this interface you will know what to expect. With the Magic you get support for a number of Google applications, including Gmail, Google Talk and Google Maps. The call quality that you get with the HTC Magic is fair, but reception might be a little sketchy, even with 3G. The Internet connection through 3G should work wonderfully, even in bad areas where coverage is iffy.

If you like using your phone to send email and text messages you will love the Magic by HTC. This phone comes with an easy to use virtual QWERTY keyboard that can be used in landscape mode. Surfing the Internet with this phone is easy, plus you get a full HTML browser, which makes going online a pleasant experience.

Among with the multimedia features that come with the HTC Magic, there is a 3.2-megapixel camera, though it does not come with flash or any camera settings. If the lighting conditions are good, you will get fair photo quality, but if you are trying to take pictures in dim lighting they will be too dark to see. Along with taking still photos with this camera, you can also record video, though the quality is about the same.

Unfortunately, HTC doesn’t seem to focus a lot on the multimedia features with the Magic, though you will get a basic music player and Bluetooth support, but not much more than this, though you can view video as well.

With average use the HTC Magic will probably last about 2 days before you need to recharge the battery, but it is rated for 660 hours of standby time. There is also a tool that will monitor the battery’s charge so that you will know when your battery is getting too low and needs to be recharged.

If you want a great smartphone and are not too worried about multimedia features, you might want to think about looking for some of the many HTC Magic deals that are offered by network providers. One of the best places to search for the cheapest HTC Magic is on the Internet, where retailers often advertise their deals.
