HTC Tattoo Review

The HTC Tattoo is an Android phone, which is low cost enough that anyone can own one. With the Tattoo you get one of the most customizable smartphones available; you can use a customized cover, plus the Sense user interface is also highly customizable.

With the HTC Tattoo you get a phone that is solidly built, even though you won’t pay a lot for it. On the front of the Tattoo is a 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen; above the screen is an LED notification display. The HTC Tattoo measures 106mm x 55.2mm x 14mm and weighs 113g. Although the Tattoo does weigh slightly more than some mobile phones, that extra weight really makes the phone feel more solid.

The HTC Tattoo is a 3G phone so you will get some great Internet speeds, as well as good call quality. Though the Tattoo performs well when it comes to call quality, the battery life isn’t as good. Even with average use you will likely have to recharge at least once a day, though it is rated for 48 hours.

Some of the calling features that come with the HTC Tattoo include speed dialing, plus you get a shortcut widget to your most frequently dialed numbers. Unfortunately the HTC Tattoo does not support voice dialing.

For multimedia features the Tattoo comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera that can take both still photos and video. The photo quality isn’t the best with this camera, as it lacks auto focus and flash. Even when taking pictures in good lighting, you will find them to be blurry much of the time.

Surfing the Internet is a better experience that using the camera on the HTC Tattoo; the browser on this phone supports full HTML web pages, which makes going online a better experience, though the display on this phone is a little small for really viewing web pages comfortably. Some additional features that come with the Tattoo include WiFi and GPS, which are both very useful features to have with your mobile. You will also have access to the Android Marketplace so that you can download additional apps for your phone.

The main drawback to the HTC Tattoo is that the small screen makes it a little more difficult to use the keyboard for sending text messages. This might be a serious problem if you send a lot of email and messages with your phone.

If you are looking for a budget friendly Android phone with a lot of features, the HTC Tattoo is worth a second look.
