LG Viewty Smart

LG Viewty Smart Review

The LG Viewty is more of a feature phone than a smartphone, and although it does come with an excellent built in camera, the cost of this handset is a little high, considering the fact that it is really just an average phone with little innovation.

Although you won’t get a lot in the way of upgrades with the LG Smart Viewty, you do get a nice looking phone. This handset does have some of the same design aspects of the original Viewty, but it also includes a little of the LG Secret as well. On the front of this mobile is a 3-inch touchscreen, and even though this display is slightly smaller than what you would get with the iPhone, it is sufficient for most uses. Featuring capacitive touchscreen technology, the display on the Smart is responsive and easy to use, plus video viewed on this screen looks great, despite its smaller size.

The one area where you will see a major improvement with the LG Smart Viewty is the 8-megapixel camera that comes equipped with Schneider-Kreuznach optics. Some of the features that come with this camera include auto focus, an LED photo light, as well as a number of photo settings. The photos taken with this camera phone are better than what you will get with most other camera phones, though the quality won’t stand up against pictures taken with a stand-alone digital camera.

Surfing the Internet with the included web browser is a little slow, though the browser does support full HTML, plus it has zoom and multi-touch capabilities. Due to the user interface, you might experience some lag in many areas, though the basic phone functions perform well enough.

Call quality on this phone is great and the battery life is another area where you will notice some improvement over the Viewty. With the LG Viewty Smart, you will have to recharge about every three to four days with average use, compared to once a day with its predecessor. Another upgrade to this phone is the inclusion of WiFi, which is a welcomed feature.

The LG Viewty Smart just does not offer the top performance and features necessary to really be considered a smartphone. This handset only offers some basic email features and there is no support for social networking. The price of the Smart Viewty LG is too high when you consider that there are a number of less expensive phones that actually offer you more features.

If you are a big fan of the LG Viewty you might want to take a look at the LG Viewty Smart, but only if you don’t mind spending more money than necessary to get the included features. For those that want more features at a lower cost, and don’t mind a lower quality camera, there are a number of other mobile phones that offer everything you would get on this handset, and more.
