According to the results of a recent survey the Apple iPhone is now the choice of the Australian consumer, with the survey finding that the iPhone had overtaken Nokia in Australia for the first time.
It has been announced recently that the Apple iPhone appears to be the choice of the consumer in Australia, with figures showing that for the first time the iPhone has overtaken the Nokia, making it Australia’s most popular mobile phone. The data comes from the Australian Mobile Phone Lifestyle Index for 2011, which was released by Aimia.
According to the data in the report there are now around thirty two percent of Australians who own an Apple handset compared to just twenty eight percent of Australians who own a Nokia mobile handset.
The report stated: “There has been a clear shift in handset brand ownership in the last few years. Nokia ownership has been steadily decreasing, as has Motorola, while Apple has been steadily increasing in popularity since the impact of the iPhone release was first captured in 2009.”
Over two thousand people were polled as part of the survey and the results also showed that almost half of them either owned an Apple iPad internet tablet or were planning to purchase one in the near future, further cementing the popularity of Apple’s innovative devices.
Sadly, the news comes following the death of Apple’s co-founder Steve Jobs, who died from pancreatic cancer this week aged just fifty six. Described as a man who knew what people wanted before they wanted it, messages of condolence have been pouring in from around the globe, including a touching message from President Barack Obama.
