Australia could wait until next year for Windows phone

It has been reported that it could be the early part of next year before Australian consumers are able to get their hands on the first Nokia mobile phone handset.

Fans of Windows phones in Australia may have been eagerly awaiting news about the first Windows phones from the Finnish manufacturer, with the hope that they could get their hands on one of the devices over the coming weeks or at the very least in time for Christmas.

However, it seems that things are not set to be as straightforward and speedy as some people may have hoped. Whilst there are many fans of Windows phones who may have been eagerly awaiting details of the release of the first Windows phone from Nokia, they may be left waiting for longer than they hoped they would be.

There have been reports that Nokia is set to release its first Windows phone in the United States and in Europe over the coming weeks, which means that consumers in many other parts of the world will be able to get their hands on one of these phones in the very near future.

However, things are not looking quite so promising for consumers in Australia, after announcements that it could be the first quarter of next year before the Nokia Windows phone is released in Australia. On its blog, Nokia came straight to the point, posting: ‘We won’t be releasing a Nokia on Windows Phone until Q1 of next year. Can’t be more specific than that sorry!’
