The Motorola Quench is an Android phone that is basically an upgraded Dext, though the upgrades are substantial enough that it is in a class of its own. When compared to the Dext, the Quench is sleeker and more stylish, plus it offers a virtual keyboard, in addition to a better media player.

Though it is fair to say that the Quench is probably a better phone than the Dext or the Blackflip, there are some drawbacks, such as its small screen and it only runs Android 1.5. Aside from these issues, the Quench is really a very nice phone.

One of the major differences between the Quench and the Dext is that the Quench does not have a physical keyboard, which is why it is thinner than the Dext, but there are several other differences as well. For taking pictures, the Quench comes with a built in 5-megapixel camera that includes LED flash, auto focus, and zoom. In addition to taking still photos, this camera will also record MPEG video. Considering the fact that this is an entry-level smartphone, the picture and video quality is very good.

The call quality that you get with the Motorola Quench is also good; there is no distortion or background noise to speak of. Surfing the Internet is no problem, web pages load quickly, and the browser easily handles flash content. The battery on the Quench is rated for 6 hours of talk time and 13.5 hours of standby time.
