Nokia E63 White

Nokia E63 White Review

Although the E series from Nokia is aimed at the business user, the Nokia E63 white is an exception. The E63 Nokia White is a smartphone that will appeal to the average consumer; it comes with a number of great business tools, as well as some fun multimedia features.

The white Nokia E63 is the perfect choice if you need a smartphone for both business and personal use; this handset features two different home screens, and you can easily switch between the two by way of a simple shortcut located on each home screen. On one screen you have access to your business tools, and the other could be used for all of your multimedia features.

Sending email and text messages with the E63 Nokia White is easy, as it comes with a QWERTY keyboard, and although the keyboard is small, the keys are shaped in a way that they are easy to use. You also get a 2.36-inch display, which is slightly small for viewing media comfortably, though it does provide a sharp picture.

For storing files, the white Nokia E63 comes with 110MB of internal memory, plus there is a microSD slot so that you can expand the phone’s memory. One of the major problems with this handset is that web browsing is slow; although the E63 does come with 3G, it doesn’t support HSDPA. If you don’t mind waiting for a site to load, the browser does fairly well at rendering web pages.

Fortunately you do get WiFi, which is a welcomed feature, but another disappointment is the lack of integrated GPS. Even though the Nokia E63 White does come with Nokia Maps, accuracy won’t be good without GPS. If using Nokia Maps without GPS for navigation, you’ll want to be cautious.

For multimedia features you get a music and video player, along with a built in 2-megapixel camera. The photo quality that you get with this camera is acceptable, though it isn’t a replacement for your stand-alone camera. You won’t get a secondary camera for video calling, which shouldn’t be a problem for most people. Although the Nokia White E63 is a lot like the E71, it does lack some of the features that make the latter a premium smartphone. The E71 comes with GPS, as well as a 3.2-megapixel camera, and more. If you don’t mind giving up GPS, you can really get a great deal with the Nokia E63 White.
